چکیده
In this paper, we present an analysis for an M/M/c/N queueing system with balking, reneging and synchronous vacations of partial servers together. It is assumed that arriving customers balk with a probability and renege according to an exponential distribution. The vacation policy prescribes that any d (0<d<c) servers take a vacation together when these d servers find that no customers are waiting in the line at a service completion instant and c− d servers are always available, either serving the customers or remaining idle. At a vacation completion instant, if the number of customers in the system is not more than c− d, these d servers take another vacation together; otherwise, these d servers return to serving the queue. The service times and the vacation times are assumed to follow independent exponential distributions. By using the Markov process theory, we first develop the equations of the steady state probabilities and derive a matrix form solution of the steady-state probabilities. Then we give some performance measures of the system such as the expected number of waiting customers, the expected number of the customers in the system, the average rate of customer loss due to impatience, etc. Based on the performance analysis, we formulate a cost model to determine the optimal number of servers on vacation. Finally, we perform sensitivity analysis through numerical experiments.

This paper analyzes a discrete-time $Geo/Geo/c$ queueing system with multiple working vacations and reneging in which customers arrive according to a geometric process. As soon as the system gets empty, the servers go to a working vacations all together. The service times during regular busy period, working vacation period and vacation times are assumed to be geometrically distributed. Customer...
متن کاملM m m Queue with Balking, Reneging and Additional Servers
In this paper, we consider a multi-server queuing system in which additional servers are allowed for a longer queue to reduce the customer’s balking and reneging behavior. The customers are assumed to arrive in Poisson fashion and their service- times follow exponential distribution. The number of servers in long run depends on the queue-length. We obtain equilibrium queue size distribution. Th...

This article presents the analysis of a finite buffer M/M/1 queue with multiple and single working vacations. The arriving customers balk (that is do not join the queue) with a probability and renege (that is leave the queue after joining) according to exponential distribution. The inter-arrival times, service times during a regular service period, service times during a vacation period and vac...

The objective of this paper is to study the M/M/R machine repair queueing system with mixed standbys. The life-time and repair time of units are assumed to be exponentially distributed. Failed units are repaired on FCFS basis. The standbys have switching failure probability q (0≤q≤1). This paper presents an analysis for an M/M/1/N queueing system with balking, reneging and server vacations. Arriving customers balk (do not enter) with a probability and renege (leave the queue after entering) according to a negative exponential distribution. It is assumed that the server has a multiple vacation. By using the Markov process method, we first develop the equations of the steady s...
